I have Office 2013 and am wondering if VISIO 2010 will run under Office 2013?

Hi,

Yes, we can run multiple versions of Office on the same PC. Pleases see the tips below to avoid some unexpected issue.

  • Install earlier versions of Office first. For example, install Office 2010 before installing Office 2013.
  • Make sure all versions of Office are either 32-bit or 64-bit. You cant have a mix of both.

Yes, But the file type are different.

Visio 2010 is binary file type - vsd
Visio 2013 is XML file - vsdx
Using Visio 2013 can open both .vsd and .vsdx.
Using Visio 2010 can open .vsd only.

If v2010 has the necessary updates it can open v2013 files.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39640

As with all version changes their may be differences in how some of the add-ins perform. v2013 dropped support for both the uml and database modeling add-ins, so it is good to have both v2010 and v2013 if you are in an enterprise IT position.
